Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Stardrive Inc. (“Stardrive”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Invariant websites (such as invariant.me), cloud services, APIs, desktop applications, and related offerings (collectively, the “Services”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
The Services are operated by Stardrive Inc., a Delaware corporation. Our principal business address is 1400 Mission St., #214, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. Stardrive Inc. is the data controller for personal information processed through the Services (unless we state otherwise for a specific processing activity). For privacy inquiries, contact jack@thestardrive.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account & auth. Email, name (if provided), password hash, workspace metadata, API key identifiers, and session / JWT data.
- Billing. When you subscribe, our payment processor (e.g. Stripe) collects payment method and billing details. We receive limited billing metadata (e.g. customer id, subscription status), not full card numbers.
- Service & API usage. Data you send to the API (claims, entities, observations, actions, etc.), request metadata (timestamps, IP, user agent), logs, and operational diagnostics needed to run and secure the Services.
- Support & communications. Messages you send us (email, forms) and related correspondence.
- Cookies & similar technologies. Essential cookies for sign-in and security; where applicable, analytics or payment-session cookies as described below.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide, maintain, and improve the Services; authenticate users; process payments and trials; detect abuse and fraud; comply with law; communicate with you about the Services; and generate aggregated or de-identified statistics.
4. Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
Where GDPR-style laws apply, we rely on: contract (providing the Services you request); legitimate interests (security, product improvement, billing integrity), balanced against your rights; legal obligation; and consent where required (e.g. non-essential cookies, certain marketing).
5. Sharing
We share information with:
- Infrastructure & subprocessors who host or process data on our behalf (e.g. cloud hosting, email), under contractual safeguards.
- Payment processors (e.g. Stripe) to complete transactions.
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required.
We do not sell personal information as “sale” is defined under U.S. state privacy laws. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention
We retain information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Technical logs may be retained for a shorter rolling period.
7. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk (encryption in transit, access controls, least privilege). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, email jack@thestardrive.com. We may verify your request as permitted by law.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and security. Checkout may set cookies from our payment provider. If you add analytics or marketing cookies later, update this section and your consent banner accordingly.
10. Children
The Services are not directed at children under 16 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International transfers
If we process data in countries outside your own, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.
12. Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (e.g. email or in-product notice).
